CLAIM
During fasts, caffeine suppositories are used against withdrawal headaches — sold in pharmacies in Israel and the US.
MECHANISM
THE LOOPHOLE — IN INTERNAL CONFLICT
The move is contested inside the tradition itself. The rabbinic answer is that on Yom Kippur one should refrain from them UNLESS the fast causes excessive suffering or risks being broken outright. So the loophole exists as a product on a shelf while the argument over whether it is a loophole is still running.
